This week we (DYW D&A) have run a social media campaign to promote partnership work between schools/colleges and employers. During the week we have promoted some of the amazing partnerships in Dundee and Angus, presented a company and school with a partnership certificate for their great work, and shown why partnerships are so beneficial.

To celebrate Maggie’s Penguin Parade Al-Maktoum College are hosting a competition which gives pupils the chance to develop their research, team working, communication and presentation skills.

Rachel from the DYW team had the privilege of attending the opening of Dundee & Angus Colleges new ‘Digital Mile’ on Thursday. The Computing and Creative Media department at the college have been working in hyper-drive for the last few months to provide the best possible environment and course they can for students as well as beginning to develop talent pipe-lines for local businesses.

Today saw pupils from Harris Academy and St Paul’s RC Academy spend the day at BT House, one of Dundee’s biggest employers, at the BT Skills for Work Boot Camp. This is an incredible opportunity that BT and My Kinda Future have run across Britain for several years and has now been brought to Dundee.

Saturday 2nd June, 10.00 – 14:00, Arbroath Academy Funded by Dundee and Angus Developing the Young Workforce The Angus STEM Festival is a free, family event with fantastic science and STEM shows from Aberdeen Science Centre, Dundee Science Centre and Generation Science as well as interactive workshops and stalls presented by local colleges, universities and STEM employers. Angus schools are also invited to sign-up for a stall and showcase their great STEM learning.
